... Oh , here's the rain-out from this past Monday.
|
It finally happened ... we flirted with the weather occasionally, but for the first time this year, the Wasaga Beach Cruisers' Monday night show was rained out at the Wal-Mart lot. Still though, hobby vehicles did turn up; one beautiful '66 Ford 428 with three 2's and a four speed came all the way from the Georgetown area ... our regrets. However, we've got four more weeks of cruise nights remaining, and this year is already deemed a major success. Thanks to all who helped {Roland, Ron, & Russ in particular} set up, only to reverse in the rain and 'light show'. Special thanks to John E and his daughter, Katie, for going the 'extra mile' during the storm, and in assisting a fellow member getting her vehicle started.

Let me also extend my congrats to Dave S. for his big win yesterday in the 70's vehicle class at the Downtown Orillia Classic Car Show. But again, I think both Widly Kyoatey and Road Runner had something to do with the win!
|
Just wanted to drop a line on the Orillia show: as Don stated the Cruisers were well represented. Well out of about 400 cars that arrived for the show one of our own Wasaga Beach Cruisers drove away with Top Honours in the 1970's class. He might just drive a red Road-Runner.
Congratulations Dave Short, from all of the Cruisers.

Many of The Wasaga Beach Cruisers travelled to Orillia to-day for their big show, and a good time was had by all ... more Cruisers than ever now know where the best Octoberfest Sausages and where the best butter tarts come from ! Not to mention the outstanding collection of virtually hundreds of fine looking vehicles. We understand some other members travelled to the Detroit area to take in both the Woodward Cruise to-day and the NASCAR race tomorrow ... was it Chuck, Rich, and Nick?

Another unbelievable Wasaga Beach Cruisers' Monday evening at the Wal-Mart lot where 128 hobby vehicles assembled to share in the common appreciation of classics, rods, muscle cars, pick-ups, specialty rides, and antiques. Tonight emphasized the basic tone of car clubs everywhere; and that is, to have fun in an uncomplicated manner, while striving for the simple need of horsepower ... in other words, what's really important in life ?? There was an abundance of 'tough' iron out tonight and we were indeed happy to see all the visitors. Thanks to all who helped make the show a positive experience.

... was only able to attend Wasaga Beach Cruisers' show at the Wal-Mart lot last night for 15 minutes, but what a great evening with 120 vehicles attending ...
|
Fantastic weather greeted 106 hobby vehicles this evening at the Wal-Mart lot, where the Wasaga Beach Cruisers hold their weekly shows/cruise nights. Again, many new cars made their way here, and the music {by Paul} was superb as usual. The 50/50 draw was a good hunk of change tonight, so congrats to the winner. The folks at Boston Pizza were kind enough to bring over pizzas for, I heard, the guys at the gate ... I don't think so. The pizzas did make it to somewhere on the property, because the guys at the gate saw the numerous empty boxes later on up front in the garbage! Anyway, we're all happy; albeit, some are hungary. Thanks to all who came out, and to all who helped out ... see, ya never know what treats to expect Monday nights at da Beach.

Another successful cruise night Monday at the Wal-Mart lot where the show drew 100 vehicles. Once again the weather forecast for much of southern Ontario was not favourable, but it could not have been a better evening with clear skies and warm temps all around Wasaga Beach. It was good to see many of our friends from the Barrie Thunder, the W. B. Cruisers' sister club, in attendance ... always a pleasure. Again, a lot of new hobby vehicles made their appearance ... thanks for sharing your gems. And thanks to all who helped out.
|
Well, it was another good Monday evening to be cruisin' to Wasaga ... in spite of yet more 'semi-threatening' weather, the Wasaga Beach Cruisers had 60 hobby vehicles out to the Wal-Mart parking lot for our show tonight. Many thanks to all the Cruisers who pitched in ; and a very Happy Birthday to one of our starting pitchers , JULIE.
