Wasaga Beach Cruisers - Our History

Eric Beamish, Bob Gasson and John Harrison had attended many cruise nights together through the late 90's.  Putting together the positive aspects of these other  events, Eric came up with the idea of a local car club.  Thus in 1998, the Wasaga Golden Oldies came to be.

The first cruise nights were held at the Riverbend Plaza where Tim Hortons is located.  After outgrowing this location they moved to the Bayside Mall (IGA Plaza).  Along with this change came a new name - Wasaga Beach Cruisers.  After John moved out west, Eric didn't have time to run the club himself, Rick and Michelle Seip stepped up to help out and the organization of the Fun Run and other activities were initiated.  In 2006 the Wasaga Beach Cruisers became an official car club with approximately 40 members.

Without Eric's original idea none of the camaraderie and fun times could have happened.  We salute Eric and all founding members for getting things rolling and for the good times we enjoy today.

Indeed, since it's origin with Eric, John, & Bob, W.B. cruise nights have grown, just as our community has grown. With Michelle, Rick and now to our current status as a club with Russ as director, this diverse group of vehicle enthusiasts have collectively massaged & built on the original concept of having fun with our hobby, to elevate it's use as a means of assisting others through various charities. Although some names are at the forefront, it is every member and a host of local businesses & entities, that contribute. As a member, it is good to have fun and to share.
